I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist mentioning the fact that Tim Tebow is now a New York Jet. Tebow-Mania has infected my house!
Week one can officially be put in the books. So far, Denim Chicken is undefeated and I am one happy coach but we are only one week down. While there were many standout starts in the NFL season debut I really didn’t have any. I had guys who played the way I expected and some who played far less than expected. Those players are set to see another week in a Denim Chicken uniform. My top three players for the week were: Drew Brees (obviously), Aaron Hernandez, again, obvious and of all others the Jets D. Yes, that is not a typo. The Jets came out to prove a point, that they are the hard hitting team of the past and they managed to run all over the Buffalo Bills and gave Denim Chicken an extra 18 point push in their win over the Eggrollers in week one.
While we are just fresh out of the first week of football history is bound to repeat itself in the form or injuries. While there weren’t too many to report people should think they are safe, an injury can occur in the blink of an eye. We saw unbelievable play from some unexpected players this week. Who would have thought that RG3 and the Redskins would’ve gone into the dome and silenced the Saints and their fans with a week one loss? Kevin Ogletree of the Cowboys took advantage of the easy-going coverage by the New York Giants and scored 2 TD’s giving the Cowboys a win in the first NFL game of the season.
I can only hope those in the IPFK League don’t get their hopes us because not everyone can have as good of a week one as they can a week two. Will RG3 continue to play like a veteran rather than the first round, number two pick rookie? Did Miami make the right decision and give Tannehill the starting QB spot over Matt Moore? Can Wes Welker come off a rocky start with the Patriots in week one and give the fans and fantasy owners to bragging rights he has the last three years? It is looking like another fun and stressful season but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
